Mirror Mirror

Adobe XD Daily Creative Challenge

PROJECT OVERVIEW

As a means of challenging myself and a way of becoming more proficient using Adobe XD, I am continually working on their daily challenges.

I designed an apparel selector experience for a smart mirror. Your daily outfit choice then connects to your phone to save or use for later.

SKILLS & TOOLS UTILIZED

Balsamiq

THE CHALLENGE

Design an interface for a smart mirror located within a bedroom or closet.
THE APPROACH

I created a rough list of websites, apps and various other influences a person would use to make fashion choices. From there I made decisions on what features would best fit within the mirror’s functions. I decided early on, to have the phone act as the medium to interact with the mirror. I then quickly brainstormed various ideas, sketching them out and then translating them into Balsamiq. From there I narrowed it down to just the mirror’s interface. Going forward, I plan to finish the phone app that connects with the mirror.

LIST OF INFLUENCES

catalogs; fashion websites; fashion magazines; outfit planners such as getwardrobe.com and shoplook.io; clothing subscription services such as stitchfix, trunkclub, le tote, fabletics and frank & oak style plan

POSSIBLE FEATURES

outfit discovers; snapshot feature; possible sharing option; smart suggestions; link to sellers’ websites; organize by color, pattern, brand, seasons, style or weather; mood wear; a “suitcase” save option; shuffle; thumbs up / thumbs down

BRAINSTORMING

To help visualize my concept, I sketched out various concepts using Balsamiq.
